Tips to Market Your Higher Education Institute and Increase enrollments
With over 36.64 million students to be enrolled in higher education, this provides a great opportunity for the higher education sector.

The board exam results of class 12th are declared in India. Now there will hustle for getting enrolled in a good higher education institute.  India has one of the largest networks of higher education institutions in the world. With over 36.64 million students to be enrolled for higher education, it is a great opportunity for the higher education sector.

The higher education market, however, is facing an uphill struggle. With a total number of colleges and universities in India having reached 39,050 and 903, respectively in 2018, the competition is getting stiffer by the year.  Thus, it has become crucial for higher education institutes to pull up their marketing game. Below are some of the marketing strategies a higher education institute can adopt to increase their number of enrolments.

Mobile-friendly

The one thing that most students never forget is their smartphones.  One is most unlikely to find a student who isn’t glued to his/her smartphone.  25% of millennials look at their phone more than 100 times a day and 50% of them check it at least 50 times a day. This means that s a higher education institute, you need to implement your marketing strategies that are mobile phone friendly and it reaches those before desktops to reach prospective students faster. Hence, you need to carefully consider how your marketing campaign will look on mobile and tweak it to optimise. This could translate to simpler designs that are tap and swipe-friendly.

Build Trust

There are so many higher educational institutes out there. You need to think about how and why a student would want to get enrolled in your institute? You need to highlight the points which will entice students to take admission in your college. You need to embark on an effort to strengthen your brand image through a good marketing strategy and build trust through your marketing communication. Use testimonials, case studies or endorsements, mention specific numbers and statistics, show credibility indicators and showcase media mentions etc.

Virtual Tour of the Campus

Virtual reality opportunities within higher education are increasing more than ever. The possibilities of virtual reality and artificial intelligence in a classroom are endless. As digital technology and EdTech continues to grow, higher education institutes are providing a glimpse of their offerings via a virtual tour of the campus. The ambiance of a campus matters a lot to students, thus, virtual tours can allow prospective students and their parents to explore campuses from afar.

Influencers

Influencer marketing is a huge deal at the moment. According to reports, millennials believe the words of a fellow adult of some repute while making any purchase decision. By finding their potential influencers, higher education institutes can leverage influencer marketing and recruit them to produce and promote relevant content. Influencer marketing is an amped-up version of word of mouth marketing while having access to a substantial number of viewers who would also share content to add on to the viewership. Influencers marketing is said to generate 11 times the return on investment of traditional digital marketing.
