HRD Ministry launches 2 programmes for higher education faculty

These initiatives are aimed at training teachers of higher educational institutes and grooming their leadership qualities.

Ministry of Human Resource Development has launched the Annual Refresher Programme in Teaching (ARPIT) and Leadership for Academicians Programme (LEAP). These initiatives are aimed at training teachers of higher educational institutes and grooming their leadership qualities.

ARPIT is an online certificate course which will be conducted for three months by the government. The ministry is setting up 75 discipline-specific National Resource Centres (NRCs) under ARPIT. Of these 75, 46 have already been set up. ARPIT will allow all in-service teachers at higher education institutions to undergo technology-based online refresher courses.

LEAP is an annual programme by IIT Kharagpur to train academics with leadership potential and help them improve their administrative skills, crisis management abilities, teamwork and communication skills.
