The technology is taking shape every day according to the needs and demands of the millennial. In the past couple of years, India witnessed a huge shape taken by the smartphones industry. Along with the way smartphone was seen and used, India also witnessed the rise of smartphone companies, each competing against each other, but how many of them could pass the test of time?

In the same wave, Xiaomi, the Chinese cellphone company was born which joined in the huge wave, where it rose, stumbled and rose again. I think this fight against the tide ability, made Xiaomi, what it is today.

Xiaomi’s Indian Story

Manu Jain, MD, Xiaomi India said, "All this success has been built by a small team of Xiaomi, which started with barely 20 people in 2014 and has gradually become 500-plus in 2018 by its Mi fan community in India.

Xiaomi's journey in India has been quite inspiring and the company has always focussed to hire talent who share the passion for Xiaomi and can help Xiaomi to retain the startup culture which is symbolic to Xiaomi."

According to the tracking firm’s statistics, the Chinese company hit a massive 28 percent market-share in 2018, while second-placed Samsung accounted for 24 percent market share. It marks an impressive turnaround for the company as, just a year ago, Samsung was number one at 24 percent, while Xiaomi was sitting at 19 percent.

Franchise Ready

Recently Xiaomi has inaugurated over 500 Mi Stores simultaneously at the exact same time. These Mi Stores are located across 14 Indian states. "Mi Stores are Xiaomi's venture into the rural markets for offline expansion and a testimony to its new retail business model. The Mi Store project is expected to generate massive employment opportunities with over 15,000 jobs in these regions, thereby boosting immense economic output.”

According to reports Xiaomi India has announced its plan to open more than 5,000 Mi Stores across all over India by the end of 2019. These Mi Stores outlets are situated in several towns ranging from tier 3,4,5 and below. The company announced: "With these initiatives, the brand has rapidly expanded its offline presence in rural India."

With the massive Expansion plan, Xiaomi India has successfully made its name secure in the Top Franchise 100 Brands list.
