China-India Yoga College to open 50 branches in China

With yoga gaining popularity in China as a healthy lifestyle choice, the China-India Yoga College is planning to expand its training locations.

Founded in June 2015 as part of a China-India cultural exchange programme, the China-India Yoga College opened its first branch on December 22 at Yunnan University in the city of Lijiang as part of its nationwide partnership with universities in cultivating high-level yoga professionals.

In order to boost yoga education and teacher training, a total of 50 branches will be set up in the future.

Chen Luyan, Dean of the China-India Yoga College, has said that nearly 100 yoga teaching and training centers will also be built to provide teacher training courses, yoga workshops and non-profit courses.
