Why Starting A Brewery In Chandigarh Is Highly Lucrative
Brewery business is flourishing in the city because of rapid development and relatively high consumption rate in comparison to other cities.

A brewery is one that produces freshly brewed beer. With an increasing number of upwardly mobile youngsters saying cheers to beer, the concept of breweries is rapidly gaining popularity in Chandigarh. The freshly brewed beer has become their de-facto choice.

Brewery business is flourishing in the city because of rapid development and relatively high consumption rate in comparison to other cities.  The number of breweries in India has grown from two in 2008 to 80 last year. The tricity (Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula) accounts for 20% of this growth. Here are the following reasons why starting a Brewery in Chandigarh will “brew” a huge success for you.

Young Crowd

Youngsters are the major contributor to the sales of beer in Chandigarh. The concept of brewed beer is galloping in the city especially among the young crowd. They are not turning away from the mass-produced beer brands and are opting for rich-flavour freshly brewed in-house beers. Freshly brewed beers offer them the opportunity to experiment with flavours minus the glycerine.

Weddings

A Punjabi Wedding is a colourful blend of music, fashion, dance, food and Booze! Alcohol is an integral part of a Punjabi Wedding and is also one of the major growth drivers of the Liquor Industry. Recently, the excise department has issued a new excise policy which allows L2 license holders to sell draught beers at weddings and events.

Marriages, where liquor is served in large volumes, will boost the sales of brewed beers in the state.

Quality over Cost

Chandigarh is blessed with residents who have higher disposable income, who don’t hesitate in spending some extra bucks for quality crafted beers.

Beer drinking in India is restricted to “bottled concept” and thus there is very less awareness about the beverage. Beer is best when consumed within 15 days. To extend the shelf-life of the beer for u to six months, mass-produced beer is often treated with glycerine as a preservative but the quality of the product suffers in the bargain.

Indians are now understanding beer better and thus seeking wide choices and better quality, which only craft beers can offer. There is a possibility of creating about 2,000 different varieties of beer. Youngsters are open to experimenting with various flavours of beer and are willing to shed extra money over the regular bottled beer.

Proximity to Metro City

Another major reason which makes Chandigarh a hot-spot for opening a brewery is its proximity to Delhi. Liquor laws are too strict in metropolitan cities, which make it difficult for a microbrewery to flourish there. But Delhi is demographically blessed with young professionals who can afford to spend a bigger buck for a product that goes the extra mile.
