Why Self-Motivation Is Important For Entrepreneurs
Self-Motivation In Entrepreneurs
According to Oxford Dictionary motivation is described as ‘a reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way’. Self-motivation is motivation arising from individual’s internal desire for the satisfaction and fulfilment of specific needs.
There are four elements that comprise motivation:
-The initiative, which he defined as ‘readiness to act on opportunities’; and
-Personal drive to achieve, the desire to improve or to meet certain standards;
-Optimism, the ability to keep going and pursue goals in the face of setbacks.
-Commitment to personal or organizational goals;
Self-motivation or optimism is a key life skill which is necessary to achieve something valuable. It is also a key part of emotional intelligence, one of the three areas of personal skills that are integral to the concept. As an employee of a company, there are seniors to direct, guide and motivate you. They will ensure that the annual targets of the company are achieved. However as an entrepreneur, to be able to run a business profitably and efficiently you need to have a lot of self-motivation. Every day we are faced with challenges. However, the fact that there is no “boss” telling you what to do brings the responsibility to make decisions and on your own shoulders. There will be times when you will dread going to work, and there will be times when the future of your business looks bleak. The key to motivating yourself to succeed, even when it gets difficult, is to set specific goals and stay positive. It will be required for planning and strategizing the entire business outlay. Motivating oneself in an entrepreneurship is important for a business to run as well as grow. Entrepreneurs with high self-motivation are able to achieve the following:
-They never lose sight of the goal
-Willing to take risks and learn more details involved with trade
-Able to handle criticism
-Confident in dealing with clients
-Meet demands of the clients
-Keep the employees motivated
-Take responsibilities for their actions
-Able to give legible suggestions
-Proud of what they have achieved.
The world of entrepreneurship by itself is motivation to those true entrepreneurs who are in pursuit of winning. They’re motivated by events, progress or actions that facilitate in bringing their idea to life. They find this motivation they find by constantly reminding themselves of their vision and the reason they are working so hard. The real differentiator between a successful entrepreneur and others is their ability to remain self-motivated throughout their time. As an entrepreneur, one must trust themselves to succeed and remain motivated, because ultimately they must not only motivate themselves but anyone else on their team.
