The year 2015 bodes well for the evolving healthcare which offers at-home healthcare, any time medicine deliver and much more. Joining the forces is the new smartphone mobile app Lookup which enabled faster blood donations in emergency.

With exponential adoption rate of smartphone usage in 2015, online purchases harnessing the opportunity across the customer journey. This ultimate game changing era has offered not only at-home healthcare to the people, but has enabled the consumer to arrange blood in case of emergency in no-time.

Lookup, a renowned mobile app that connects shoppers with local businesses, has tied-up with blood banks across Bengaluru to enable faster blood donations in times of emergency. The vision behind the initiative is to facilitate friends, family and acquaintances of patients to find blood for their loved ones easily in fraction of seconds.

How is works?
It eliminates the need to check for donor’s availability through WhatsApp or Facebook. Users can also donate blood via Lookup app simply by connecting with a conveniently located blood bank in their vicinity.

Elaborating on the new initiative, Deepak Ravindran, Founder and CEO of Lookup said, “We saw a huge opportunity leveraging in our platform to assist users when they most need it. It’s heartening to see blood banks using technology to provide enhanced convenience to the common man. It gives us immense pleasure to know that with just a message through Lookup, our users can save their loved ones easily, accessing to information about blood group availability.”

 

Nevertheless, to encourage more people to help others, Lookup will give away a lookup customized blood donor T-shirt every time one donates blood to a patient.

Significantly, the Lookup mobile app aims to use chat to disrupt local commerce in India. It eliminates the need to call a retailer and wait for a response and assimilates all the requirements from buying groceries, home delivery, making reservations to product/price enquiry into one app.

The Bengaluru-based company started operations in October last year with the launch of the Android app. The iOS app was launched in March 2015.

Going forward, Lookup will introduce more categories, payment options, NLP/Artificial Intelligence, deep linking to other apps as well as add a virtual store on its platform for vendors to sell through Lookup besides fostering partnerships with businesses in newer verticals such as education.
