“Unless you see the numbers, you won’t believe what you are inhaling”- says Liam Bates
In a casual conversation with Liam Bates, CEO and Co-founder, Kaiterra, a Swiss brand making air quality monitor. Entering the Indian sub-continent in 2017, it is witnessing brand growth due to deteriorating air quality.

India has seen a steep rise in demand for the workplace environment monitoring due to various reasons like awareness among the mass. Healthy living has become the slogan of the millennial, giving a lot of room for the technological entrepreneurs to develop monitors, equipments.

Rise of Air Quality Demand

Over the past couple of years, there has been an alarming rise in air pollution, which is affecting lives, especially in India due to various factors.

Recently Kaiterra launched its new product Sensedge. Liam says, “Concerns about air quality in India have been rising and there is an urgent need to invest in healthy buildings since we spend most of our time indoors. Sensedge empowers commercial building owners to accurately measure the quality of air indoors and work towards improving it.”

Awareness

Even though people are aware of the hazards of air pollution, they have not come across enough trustworthy solutions and are still struggling to find a product which can help in solving their problem.

Liam says, “For any global brand that wants to enter the Indian market, awareness and educating the audience about the product plays a vital role.”

Indians spend maximum time indoors in the workplace and their home. Children spend their time in schools and in coaching classes, where the air’s quality is a major concern. So awareness comes into play especially in identifying the right product.

Nita Soans, CEO-Kaiterra India, adds, “While the HR industry has been getting on board wellness and well-being concepts in the workplace, priority is slowly being given to healthy buildings. Companies are exploring how their investment in healthy buildings affects people’s cognition and productivity. But there’s still a lot that needs to be done to increase awareness.”

Solutions

The market is crowded with products, and every other brand claiming to be the best. Unless people take control of what they want from the brand, the market will remain crowded and the population mislead.

Liam says, “One lives and believes the myth that my house is safe, as I live next to a park or I have planted enough trees in my surrounding so I am inhaling fresh air. With Kaiterra, one can identify if their air purifier is actually helping them in providing the solution, it claims to provide. Unless you see the numbers you won’t believe the quality of the air you are inhaling. That is where the problem begins and you start looking for solutions.”
