Suyin Optronics in partnership with Syska Group and Biometronic sets operations in India
The camera module factory has been set up for empowering the growing demands of localizing and manufacturing of electronic components.

SYSKA Group (India) in partnership with Biometronic Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) and Suyin Optronics Corp. (Taiwan) will set up India’s first camera module factory. The factory will be set up in Noida with the total investment of $30 million. The camera module factory has been set up for empowering the growing demands of localizing and manufacturing of electronic components.

Suyin Optronics will manufacture camera modules for mobile phones, automotive industry (Rear view camera), medical, security industry (CCTV) and defense industry (Drones). The factory will have a room for an installed production capacity of 5 million pieces per month.

With the aim to support Indian government’s initiative of Make in India, this is for the first time that a camera module factory is being set up in India by a global player. The government’s recent nod to legalize drones in India will give Suyin Optronics an added advantage to manufacture drone cameras in the country.

Syska Group has 49% stake in the company whereas Biometronic has 41% stake and Suyin Optronics has 10% stake in the new entity.

Rajesh Uttamchandani, Director of Syska Group, said, “We are excited to announce our strategic partnership with Suyin Optronics and Biometronic to become the pioneers of camera modules in India. With the use of latest technology, innovation and state of the art facility, we will process the manufacturing of camera modules in a phased manner. Additionally, we have always been supportive of government’s initiative of Make in India and setting up a factory in India will help us in contributing towards this initiative and also aid in generating employment opportunities.”

Gary Lee, Chairman of Suyin Optronics Corp. (Taiwan), said, “We are pleased to announce our manufacturing facility with our strategic partners. India’s economic growth of 7.4%, its domestic consumer electronic demands and the government's encouragement of foreign companies to localize production has provided to us an opportune moment to establish a sound manufacturing base that will be self-sufficient through technology development and research.”

Prabhu Sridharan, Promoter and Managing Director of Biometronic Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), said, “Bringing together the right technology, the perfect partnerships and building a sustainable eco-system will only enhance the Make in India program. It gives us an immense pleasure to introduce this highly sophisticated manufacturing facility which will include image sensor packaging and finished camera modules.”
