SAGE Foundation to use Rs 76 lakh grant from JP Morgan for training 200 graduates
The grant will be utilized to train 200 fresh graduates in banking jobs

Shahani Academic & Global Empowerment Foundation (SAGE), a non-profit trust focused on skills training, has received a Rs 76 lakh grant from JP Morgan to help train 200 economically disadvantaged graduates in banking jobs.

The Shahani Group will adopt innovative teaching methods to provide BFSI-specific training to these underprivileged youth. The Group is also preparing to update the curriculum and train teachers to meet the changing industry standards and ensure students are work-ready.

Lack of skills to secure a good job is one of the biggest barriers to economic opportunity. Every year thousands of fresh graduates look for employment in the financial sector but there is often a disconnect between educational achievements and practical requirements. It is, therefore, important to bridge the gap between employee skills and employer needs.

Akhil Shahani, Managing Director, Thadomal Shahani Group, said, “J.P. Morgan is one of the leading companies in the financial sector.  Earning this grant from such a prominent institution has truly uplifted our resolve to ensure a change in the education sector. We will utilize the fund to help students reach their full potential and find jobs in the banking sector.”

Maneesha Chadha, Head of CSR for India, JP Morgan, stated, “Businesses across the board are facing challenges in finding and employing skilled talent. Through this program, we aim to give students an opportunity to acquire the right training for the right skills that are needed to build careers.”
