Raksha Bandhan: Siblings Build Businesses Together To Touch New Heights
“As kids we shared childhood memories, as grown-ups we shared a common vision and dream. It’s a privilege to be able to work in an environment of complete trust, support and unconditional love. We complement each other’s skills and are each other’s toughest critics,” Sonal Agarwal said.

Partnering with right person can have an incredible impact on your business and if the partner is your sibling then working together for a common goal takes the joy to next level. And who can be the best other than a sibling who shares a common interest and future goals.

The bond of brother and sister is unique and unbreakable. No matter how they fight with each other on petty things but they are always available for each other when there is need.

The festival of Raksha Bandhan is observed as a symbol of duty between brothers and sisters. Brothers and sisters across the nation celebrate the day to make their bond stronger with each passing time. On this Raksha bandhan, we will take a look at few entrepreneurs who are siblings and together they have built great businesses.

Campus Sutra

Campus Sutra is a Bengaluru-based private-label apparel and accessories online marketplace where they sell clothes of every category. The business which is run by Khushboo Agarwal, Sonal Agarwal, Aditya Agarwal and Khushboo’s husband Dhiraj Agarwal sells its student-centric products to people through various e-commerce platforms such as Myntra, Jabong, Flipkart and Amazon, apart from its own website. The business was launched in 2013 and till now it has touched crores of rupees of revenue.

Speaking on how did they support each other during the journey of their business, Sonal Agarwal, Campus Sutra Co-founder and Chief Design Officer said, “As kids we shared childhood memories, as grown-ups we shared a common vision and dream. It's a privilege to be able to work in an environment of complete trust, support and unconditional love. We complement each other’s skills and are each other’s toughest critics.”

Further she told Opportunity India, “When we were young, all project work was dumped on me by them, and I ran to khushboo Aditya for all my math problems. Today, Aditya is our numbers guy and Khushboo is the bossy one (still bossing us around). To this day we are three musketeers helping each other through thick and thin.”

There few more companies which are being run by siblings including Inc.5, Amrutam, La Kheer Deli and Mana Organics.

Inc.5

Amrutam

Taking over the loss-making business of their father, this brother-sister duo came to the rescue of ayurvedic business and revamped the same to build Amrutam in 2017. From supplying herbal medicines to medical stores and doctors for over 10 years, Stuti Gupta and Agnim Gupta revived the family business and started selling premium personal as well as healthcare OTC products online, through their website, and directly to the consumers (D2C). They also repackaged the products and labelled them differently.

La Kheer Deli
