Microsoft India signs MoU with Sikkim govt for enhancing digital literacy
The MoU has been inked between them to improve the education system in Sikkim by boosting digital literacy and building new age tech capacity among students and faculty in government-run schools.

The Sikkim government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft India. The MoU has been inked between them to improve the education system in Sikkim by boosting digital literacy and building new age tech capacity among students and faculty in government-run schools.

Manish Prakash, General Manager of Public Sector, Microsoft India, said, "E-governance is the best way to get the benefits of technology to all the residents of Northeast India. We believe the next step of growth will be to leverage the power of the cloud, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and data; and are very keen to partner with the North East on this journey."

Under the MoU, Microsoft will be supporting the state in the integration of IT content in the state board curriculum for building student capacity, ushering in school reforms, building teacher capacity as well as enhancing digital literacy and digital citizenship.

RB Subba, the Human Resource Development Department of Sikkim, stated, "We are committed to harnessing the power of technology to transform e-governance and core sectors in Sikkim and we are happy to partner with Microsoft."
