In Jaipuria Schools, we are using innovative models to expand access to quality education, Shreevats Jaipuria"
We understand that few years that a student spends with us would ‘shape or break’ that individual, so there is great power and greater responsibility in the hands of the School.

At the Innovation Summit 2017, we got our hands on some of the learned minds of the nation. Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria, Vice Chairman, The Jaipuria Schools, spoke to educationbiz in an exclusive interview, sharing their innovative partnership models that have set a benchmark in the Education space.

In the era of Edupreneurship, how has been your journey so far?

It’s been a fantastic journey for us. We have been expanding rapidly for the last 4-5 years. We have a long legacy in Education. In the last 4 years, we have gone from 1 school to expanding up to 14 schools and today, we cater to 14000 students.

Talking about expansions, could you enlighten us with your partnership models. Also, kindly share your collaborations further.

We work on a licensing model and we are very hands on and intensive with the kind of support that we give to each of our schools. As you know, a school is a very complex organisation where each day what every child learns the environment, he/she is in, the way and the way the teachers interact with them needs to be improved in order to deliver quality education.

Right from the academic part, where we have created more than 200,000 pages of curriculum, whereby before every period, the teacher has an idea of how to implement a class, how to change the learning that is taking place in the classrooms because it is simply not enough to put a brand name on a school and for education to take place in a same way. So, we are very focused in bringing about a change in the classrooms.

Today, when we witness so many schools coming up in every corner of the country, how is Jaipuria Schools different from other Institutions?

A brand is more than a name. A brand is a promise. And the way we are able to do that is by working intensively on the teachers and the curriculum to make sure that it is taking place in a classroom. Also, that is not just limited to academics but also to extra-curricular activities and the overall environment of the school.

Going by the current scenario wherein we see schools catering to different parts of the country, how important are franchising in the Education sphere?

It is extremely important to use innovative models to expand access to quality education in the country. Today, there are almost 25 crores students going to school. In our institution, we are trying to create a model where we can provide high quality models which are accessible to many middle class people.
