IIFL to provide free education for construction workers’ children

IIFL Home Loan with the help of IIFL Foundation is running school facilities at some of the developers’ sites as part of their corporate social initiative to give education to the children of construction workers who do not have access to education.

The non- banking financial company subsidiary of India Infoline Finance Ltd (IIFL) owns the IIFL Home Finance Ltd wholly.

The make-shift education structures have been started at developers’ sites in Noida and Greater Noida. Currently, 30 children of construction workers are getting elementary education in these schools.

The company is targeting around four locations across India by the end of 2018-19. IIFL Home Loan is planning to expand the initiative to developers’ sites in Pune as well.

IIFL Home Loan is also providing support to these schools in terms of teachers’ salary. Teachers working here belong to the nearby areas only.

In addition to providing basic education to the children, it is also a platform also brings employment opportunities for teachers belonging to economically weaker sections.

IIFL Home Finance together with IIFL Foundation wants to ensure that no child remains devoid of education, said Himanshu Arora (Business Head), Construction Finance/Alternate Channels, IIFL Home Finance Ltd.

“Currently over 30 kids are studying at such schools but our aim is to take this initiative to a larger level,” he added.
