The hub of entrepreneurial activity at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), NSRCEL, has inked an educational pact with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women in India. The NSRCEL of IIM Bangalore has a rich history of focusing on solving entrepreneurial challenges, both economic and societal.

Reaching More Women Entrepreneurs

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women is a global initiative that fosters economic growth by providing women entrepreneurs around the world with a business and management education, mentoring and networking, and access to capital. It has been understood that investing in women entrepreneurs leads to the economic growth of the country.

Goldman Sachs through its program has provided practical business education, access to capital and networking opportunities to thousands of women across the world.

The partnership with IIMB’s NSRCEL will help in expanding this program to reach more women entrepreneurs.

Sonjoy Chatterjee, Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs in India, said, “This initiative will empower female entrepreneurs, who will create jobs and in turn strengthen the foundations of our local communities.”

Helping Women Entrepreneurs

This program will provide women entrepreneurs with a holistic approach to grow and scale their businesses. It will address the day-to-day obstacles that women entrepreneurs face in the course of running a business and imparts effective ways of dealing with them

The program will also include essential topics like strategy, finance, accounting and business development.

Professor Suresh Bhagavatula, Chair, NSRCEL, and faculty in the Entrepreneurship area at IIMB, said, “10,000 Women is a tremendous opportunity for women who run their own small businesses to dive deeper into their subject knowledge, develop and implement a growth strategy, and build a professional network that will support each entrepreneur on her path to continued growth.”

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women also offers its full curriculum online through the Coursera platform as an alternative for those entrepreneurs who prefer online education or those that cannot attend a residential program.
