How Beauty Clinics Are Transforming The Indian Beauty Industry?
From ultra advanced facials to high-tech hair treatments, beauty clinics are giving Indian beauty industry a spectacular face lift.

With an unprecedented technological advancement, everything we need today is just a touch away. Quite literally! Whether you want to book a cab or shop, technology has made various tasks easier and quicker to finish. It will not be an exaggeration to say, today, there’s hardly any aspect of life that remains untouched by the technology, and this applies to “looking beautiful inside out” as well.

The tech invasion has made beauty more attainable. It almost seems like that beauty & tech is a match made in heaven. Combining the latest technology with wellness & beauty aesthetics, “beauty clinics” is the ideal child of this heavenly match.  Bringing the most advanced beauty treatments within the reach of Indian women, these clinics have transformed the Indian beauty industry.

Gone are the days when going to beauty salon only meant a basic skin cleanup or haircut. From instant glow to reducing the signs of aging, beauty clinics have changed the way we perceive beauty. The advent of “beauty clinics” has brought “beauty” within the budget and pocket-size of Indian women. It is no more a niche concept, which required shelling out lakhs of rupees and visiting expensive cosmetologists clinics in the country or abroad.

I coined the concept of “beauty clinic” in India in 1988 with the launch of “Alps Beauty Clinic”. Back then, the beauty industry was not seen as a good career option. It wasn’t as lucrative and aspiring as we see it today. This was partly because of the notion prevalent at that time that this profession doesn’t require good education or skill. In fact, this was the very reason that prompted me to come up with the Alps Beauty Clinic. The ‘beauty parlors’ were working on the skin but they had no idea about the types of skin and their respective requirements.

The introduction of beauty clinics expanded this space dynamically. The beauty industry grew exponentially and became bigger & better. Beauty clinics not just worked as a great platform for learning and exploring the science behind skin, they proved to be a game changer and transformed the entire industry.

The industry started attracting the right kind of talent – beauty enthusiasts who were actually interested in learning, possessing the aptitude for this profession. On the other hand, with the right talent came the boom for the business and we saw mushrooming of thousand of beauty clinics as well as dermatology centers across the country.

While the beauty industry enjoyed this newfound glory, people were excited too to explore and experience the best of science, technology & beauty. Thanks to the beauty clinics, women found a new confidence in themselves and the pride of beauty filled their heart with joy. Treating beauty problems like acne, scars, pigments, dark spots, hair fall, dull skin, and facial hair became possible.

Beauty clinics offered advanced treatments like Laser treatments, microdermabrasion facials, hair spa therapies, Laser hair removal and Permanent makeup, etc that gave real-time results to the client and eventually, propelled the popularity of beauty clinics. Ultimately, the entire beauty industry benefitted from this and came to a position where we see it today – glamorous, lucrative and highly respectable.

Beauty clinics also gave “education in skincare” a big shot in the arm. Today we see, highly advanced courses based strongly in technology and science. This advanced knowledge has empowered the professionals as well as clients. While clients are receiving result-oriented, pocket-friendly treatments, the professionals can now explore a variety of career options in skincare, hair care, nail care, and makeup. The employment opportunities in the country and abroad are exciting and rewarding.

The research and technological progression is an ever-going progress. Of course, there is so much to be explored and discovered. Today, we are able to reduce the signs of aging with the help of fillers, Botox and micro-derma facials, and now the skin scientists are looking at stopping/reversing the skin aging process and hair regrowth. Other revolutionary treatments like derma rollers, injections, AHA special masks and PRP facials (Platelet Rich Plasma) can now make your skin look luminous and young.

Beauty Clinics are also using breakthroughs in products. From gold to charcoal, the goodness of nature is being used in beauty treatments to give long-lasting results. For example, we now use 24kt Pure Gold leaf in Gold Facials. The blend of natural ingredients and the latest machines ensure that the skin problems are treated from the root to give you the beauty that is skin deep.
