Highlights of the Indian Education Congress 2019
The 9th National Convention on Indian Education, which took place at the JW Marriott, Aerocity, New Delhi witnessed the participation of some of the big names from the education industry, who are working collectively to revolutionizing the Indian Education Industry in their own ways.
The Convention also called Indian Education Congress 2019 provides an excellent platform for the existing entrepreneurs and investors to put their views, start a debate and guide the aspiring edupreneurs and investors, that are willing to transform the Indian education industry with their offerings. It is the only occasion of the year, where the Education industry experts gather under one common roof, share their visions and thoughts about the current and future Indian education industry.
The Indian Education Congress eventually turned out to be a great success that fulfilled the demands and expectation of various educators that became a part of this massive gathering. Along with industry experts, the event also welcomed delegates and exhibitors that looked for an opportunity to expand their business along with building a strong and beneficial network within the industry.
Later that night, Indian education professionals were appreciated and awarded for their hard work, unique and beneficial business ideas that carry the potential to revamp the Indian education market. This award segment was carried forward under the banner ‘Indian Education Awards 2019’.

Education: The Building Block of Confident Human
Prof. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), explains, “Education is basically creating confident human beings and in the process, they will also contribute towards society, to the economy to the political structure, anything for that matter. Therefore, education per se, the ground level or basic, has to create individuals who have whatever excellence in them to come out with that and for that how do we support that is very important. Today everyone talks about the employability of graduates and the jobs being available or not available. Therefore today education has also gained significance in terms of creating good quality employable graduates who are useful for industry.
If the jobs are created by the students rather than seeking jobs is excellent. Therefore entrepreneurship, education else wise has become important. On one side, technology, entrepreneurship, employability and use of technology – I think these are four pillars on which the entire education system rests.”
The Ideology behind STEAM/STEM Labs
Shreevats Jaipuria, “We believe that whatever we are teaching today is less important than the idea of creating students who have an ability to learn and the curiosity to learn. Because whatever we teach today is going to be redundant, whether we like it or not, after 12-15 years when the students would be actually needing them in their jobs or as entrepreneurs. I think a STEAM/STEM lab has the ability to give light to the fire of experimentation and learning.
So, at the end of the day, the idea of having these labs should be, to be able to bridge the gaps that we have between traditional subjects, because, eventually everything in this world is interdisciplinary.”
Technology: A Common Buzzword in today’s education industry
Vishnu Karthik, Director & CEO, The Heritage Group of Schools and Xperiential Learning Systems says, “Technology has become a famous and common buzzword in the Indian education industry. But only technology-based education will take the Indian education market nowhere. It’s time to evaluate procedures to make teaching-learning effectively. This is the moment when technology helps educators.
If I put a projector in every class without training the teachers on how to flip a classroom, instead of writing on a blackboard, teachers will start projecting lessons through a power point, removing the art of writing and teaching.”
