Lithium Ion Battery and charger maker, Exicom has announced to sign a pact with Hero Electric to supply Battery Management Systems for Electric Vehicles. As per the official statement given on Tuesday, by Exicom, Hero Electric will procure 5 lakh units of intelligent BMSs per annum from Exicom.

The BMS that Hero Electric is purchasing is built on multiple innovative technologies around remote health monitoring, multi-level safety checks to ensure that the battery operates within the safe operating area, the statement added.

The statement also said that these BMSs will be equipped with advanced feature such as cell balancing proprietary 'SoX algorithms' which help in enhancing the range of the two-wheelers and life of battery packs.

A Battery Management system is crucial element of any type of electric vehicles as it is helpful in managing and safeguarding both the vehicle and user. It collects important data, control the environment and helps all the cells get same amount of voltage to prevent overheating.

We have been able to advance performance and safety through deeper tech integration," Exicom Managing Director Anant Nahata said.

Companies sometime connect battery and BMS to external communication data bus which is then called a Smart battery pack. Such Battery packs are capable of gathering and sending data to users in real time. Smart battery packs may predict battery life, charging conditions and threats to the vehicles related to battery.

"BMS is the nerve centre of electric vehicles and we are constantly evaluating its design and features along with our preferred partner Exicom to offer the safest and best performing battery systems," Hero Electric CEO Sohinder Singh Gill said.
