Gitanjali Gems, a jewellery retailer in India is planning to open 50 stores under its multi-brand jewellery layout Jewel Souk. The company has already opened 17 shop-in-shops and company-owned stores across the country. The new outlets that are scheduled to open will also contain a few franchisee owned stores as well.
At Jewel Souk, the company showcases major jewellery brands, fashion jewellery products and watches. The brand also has plans to distribute its products to various cash and carry and hypermarket stores like Bharti-Walmart, Star Bazaar, Central and Spencers.Presently, Gitanjali has existence in 210 company owned, 255 franchises and 520 shop-in-shop stores in India. It has extra points of sale through retailers. The group operates brands like Gili, Nakshatra, Asmi, D'Damas, G Divas and G Solitaire in India. It has also recently acquired four Italian brands, Stefan Hafner, La Nouvelle Bague, IO SI, Poratti.
