Franchise India 2019 Starts with a Bang
The 17th edition of the Franchise India show attracted the new-age and wannabe entrepreneurs and established brands alike with its bouquet of international and domestics franchise opportunities.

Franchise India 2019 show has started with a bang and large fanfare at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Asia’s largest franchising and retail show has broken all the grounds and is expected to be visited by over 40,000 business buyers and more than 10,000 high net worth individuals.

In its 17th edition, the biggest growth show is inaugurated by Ram Mohan Mishra, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. During his keynote speech, Mishra said that the government is offering full support to harness opportunities to make India a $5 trillion economy. “We are on a mission to make India ‘Sone Ki Chidiya’ again. Government is emphasizing on 7 tenets for businesses to become successful: Inspiration from ideas, human capital development, infrastructure, technology, finance, access to market and ease of doing business. There are number of initiatives to support franchise businesses and MSMEs including Startup India, PMEGP, Mudra Loan program, Standup India, Udhyam Sathi and Udhyam Sakhi.”

Taking inspiration from a famous quote from Farrah Gray, ‘Build your own dreams or someone else will hire you to build theirs,’ Ritu Marya, Editor-in-Chief, Franchise India, said, “Over the last few years, most of the industries have entered into franchising, which also causes disruption. Disruption is indeed good for the market as it helps new ideas to come forward. Hence, now the time is ripe to think how products and services will make customers’ lives easier.”

The event also saw the presence of celebrity and entrepreneur Sunny Leone.

Supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the Franchise India 2019 show has attracted over 500 renowned Indian and international brands. The grand expo has dedicated zones for sectors like food & beverage, retail, licensing and private labels as well as franchise zones for low-cost brands, educational institutes, lifestyle, fashion, health and wellness and international brands. For the first time, Malaysia is participating in the expo.
