Big players are coming forward with franchises that are bringing the much needed change in the education ecosystem of India.

Here are the hottest trends in the education industry of India that are all set to create a rosy picture of the Indian education ecosystem.

Early Education

With increasing number of double-income families in India, pre-schools are one of the most sought-after places where parents are convinced of their children’s growth and care at a very tender age. Pre-schools not just take care of the children but also ensure that students polish their cognitive skills while playing in the pre-school, and this further helps students in getting a holistic education from a young age. This is also one of the most successful business ideas in education sector as demand for preschools is rapidly increasing.

STEM Education

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, abbreviated as STEM, is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in these four specific disciplines – not as separate and discrete subjects but as an interdisciplinary and applied approach.

We all know the fact that technology is penetrating deeper into the every sphere of life. With this, the number of STEM based jobs is growing at a fast pace. As per recent reports, it is anticipated that 80% of the jobs created in the next decade will require some form of math and science skills. With the STEM curriculum introduced in many educational institutions such as school and colleges, the loopholes in the traditional system of education are being fixed to make it more logical and employment-oriented, hence more holistic.

Online Education/Learning Apps

Time and again, technology is touching our lives in various ways. With the increased accessibility of internet in India, educational institutions and individuals, in general, are able to explore more of education through internet. Digitisation of learning platforms is one of the greatest trends in the education system as it has made gaining knowledge easier and more accessible than ever.

When it comes to the increased accessibility of education, all the credits goes to the sudden breakout of internet across the world. Internet providers are everywhere and are helping people in connecting with the world. Also, with the introduction of cheaper internet services by telecom operators like Idea, Airtel and the most remarkable of them all, Reliance Jio, internet penetration in tier 2 and  3 cities has provided a platform to people who are open to learning various things online free of cost. This deeper internet penetration will be able to increase traffic for online education players.

Skill Development

As per reports, India is facing a challenge to provide vocational training to almost 500 million people by 2022, which can only be overcome by providing as many skill development centres as possible.

Vocational skills such as IT and aviation are among the top demanded skills in India. Learning professional skills makes the students ready for the real world and also increases the possibilities of getting employed to a great extent.

After-school Activities

An after-school programme is one which is designed outside traditional school that emphasises on various leadership and social skills through participating in activities like sports, drama, painting, crafts choir among others. It is believed that participating in such activities not only can lead to enhanced confidence among students, but also can lead to better test scores, improved homework completion and higher grades.

Many schools have adopted this fresh concept of after-school activities for the betterment of their results. Most of them organise these activities at elementary, secondary and senior secondary levels so that students can perform better.
