Facebook releases "Your Time on Facebook" tool for User Wellness
Facebook has introduced "Your Time on Facebook" tool that counts how many minutes people spend on the app. The launch comes just days after photo-messaging app Instagram rolled out the feature to track users' time spent on the app.
The tool allows users to monitor how much time they spend on the social network's mobile application. With "Your Time on Facebook", users can set a daily limit of app usage. They will receive alerts when they go over a pre-defined time limit.
Facebook has launched this tool for users wellness as excessive use of social media has often been linked to mental health issues such as depression, hopelessness and worthlessness.
"Your Time on Facebook" tool is only available on the smartphones and not on the desktop version for now.
