Entrepreneurial Education  in India
It’s no secret that entrepreneurs “think differently. From asking provocative questions to their approach in business, everything is carried out in a creative way.

Education has always been there backbone support to expansion of economy, augmenting the standard of living alongside broadening perspective. Yet, the question of its practicality still remains, with students often scoring well in their boards but failing miserably in the test called life. This is the point where one needs entrepreneurial zeal to be the driver of change.

We live in an era where robotics and artificial intelligence is set to replace many of our current jobs. Meanwhile, global connectivity will continue to allow companies to outsource labour to other countries. Therefore, students will have to stand out in order to thrive. In the epoch of mechanical slaves, a fire of innovation is what will be the salvation for mankind- coming from the fertile minds of students. At present, Teachers need to inculcate this within an impressionable age, through the below steps:

Creative risk-taking: A willingness to take creative risks mixed with a healthy realism propels unfathomable dreams to realistic settings. Students should be encouraged to take risks rather than believing in tried and tested paths. Often, the most successful entrepreneurs prefer massive risks, post analysing pros and cons.

Self-direction: Although it is common for elders to guide students into the right path, entrepreneurship is a different ballgame that requires a great deal of self direction. The value of taking the initiative and owning the process is immense, in the current competitive environment. It’s the idea of being a self-starter the piques the interest of the surrounding, while picking up the challenge. Therefore, Students need to be empowered to own the entire learning process.

Empathy: Everyone requires a heady level of empathic intuitiveness in order to adapt, create good decisions, collaborate effectively and thrive. Empathy is a lost cause in this cut-throat generation, but the most successful people are often found to be empathetic. Success also relies on the goodwill harnessed by oneself, and here empathy plays a crucial role. Stress, meanwhile, activates the less social, more primitive survival instincts, which initially maybe productive, but actually breeds self destructive trains which are difficult to write off.

Collaboration: Collaboration is second to human nature itself, as we are beasts of social nature with a set of parameters. Every being, as we know, has his/her own set of limitations that can surpassed only through an effort of togetherness towards harmony. The correct team effort can uplift a basic idea into the stratosphere of productivity. In an organization, it is the collective effort, that contributes to success that comes with hard work.

Handling rejection: For every fall, there is a rise- a principle that everyone needs to come in terms with. Even the most thick-skinned entrepreneurs often talk about painful moments when they were rejected in their work. Hence, it is important to learn how to take a fall — or even learn how to handle legitimate criticism. This is the reality of entrepreneurial work, where there are trials and tribulations waiting at every bend. Only the ones who rise have learnt to pick themselves up from their devastating fall.


In this era of strife and steep competition, it is prudent to groom kids from a younger age, for them to gain an edge over competition as in this rat race called life, only the fit survive and thrive.
