Edtech platform upGrad acqui-hires online community platform CohortPlus to reach wider audience

Ed-tech platform upGrad has acqui-hired CohortPlus, an online community for product managers and data science enthusiasts.

The acquisition will help upGrad to reach a wider audience with the help of its online learning solution and CohortPlus’ access to the product manager and data scientist community. The consumer insights garnered through CohortPlus will also be helping the firm improve its product offerings.

Srinivasan Narayan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, CohortPlus, said, “The startup would enlist upGrad’s support in building a proprietary platform for people looking to advance their careers.”

Founded in 2015, CohortPlus is an online community bringing together like-minded career aspirants on a single community platform. It enables members to post questions and get various perspectives from industry professionals, along with seeking assistance for job interviews on the platform.

This is upGrad’s third acquisition after it had acquired Acadview Software Pvt Ltd, an online job skilling platform for undergraduates, last year and learning platform Pyoopil Education Technologies Pvt Ltd in 2016.
